Yeah so the MSBL decided not to uphold the forfeit from last week, so today we had to continue where we left off and play game 2 and game 3 (if necessary) against the Hampton Bulls and let me tell you game 3 was almost necessary. It was 3-2, Bulls going into the bottom of the 7th. Apparently Ryan Parnell, Joe Cap and Rob DeGennaro did not want to play a game 3 (as did anyone else), I mean we shouldn’t have had to play game 2 again anyways. Ryan lead off with a HBP (hit by pitch) and stole second. Joe Cap came up with 1 out and rope a ball up the middle bringing in Ryan from second to tie the ball game and going to second on the throw. This would prove to be the turning point in the game. Because Joe went to second on the throw he was able to score from second when Rob hit a line drive to right center. The Bulls outfield was unable to get the ball and after Rob took wide turn at first they decided to throw the ball to first even though no one was there. The ball roll to the fence of the Bulls dugout on the first base side. Joe being the heads up ball player he is notice the catcher was off the plate and the ball got by two Bulls players, he charged from home and slide in safe to scored the winning run. This was a crazy, intense game which we shouldn’t have had to play but glad we did because we will be ready for the Suffolk Pirates in the championship rematch next weekend.
