Golfing with Drew at Merrick

Posted in Golf, Sports with tags , on October 31, 2009 by Eugene

While Lisa, Drew and Desi were up for Pop-Pop’s memorial mass, my dad and I took Drew to golf at Merrick Road Golf Course.  We went late, 3:30, so we were unable to finish.  We only played six hole.  Again I beat Drew, by two this time, but yet again Drew had sweet ass birdie on hole 2.  He drove it like 10 yds from the hole and then he chipped the ball right in the cup.  I wish we could have got it on instant replay.  Check out the scoreboard below.  I know it’s a little blurry but it Drew – 37, Lou – 40, Eug – 35.

Golfing with Drew at Cantiague Park

Posted in Golf, Sports with tags , on October 31, 2009 by Eugene

While Lisa, Drew and Desi were up here for Pop-Pop’s memorial mass, I took him golfing at Cantiague Park.  We didn’t do so great (over par again) but Drew did pretty good for not playing since the summer.  I ended up beating him by 1, but he had a sweet par on hole 8.  Take a look at the score card (below) grasshopper.

Getting Back into the Swing of Things

Posted in Real Estate with tags on October 28, 2009 by Eugene

Between losing my job and Pop-Pop passing away, I have neglected to continue pursuing my real estate career.  Well today that all change.  Today I started to attend the Wednesday night training classes.  These classes are informational so it is a good start to get back on track.  There is also this intensive training program that is on Tuesday and Thursday, however I believe those started already, although I am waiting to hear from the guy who runs the program to see if I can still join.  If not I plan on taking the training as soon as I can.  Since I lost my job, now is the best time to direct my focus to real estate.  I need to ask my manager about getting on the LeadRouter Software so I can start getting some buyers.

If you would like me to add you to my mailing list to receive free newsletters with some information about real estate please email me at elampione@c21amhomes.com.  I will add you to the list to receive these informational newsletters.

Golf 0uting at Cantiague Park

Posted in Golf with tags , , on September 20, 2009 by Eugene

Today my dad and I went to Cantiague Park for a little golf outing.  We play our horrible usual self, but was hella fun.  I actually did pretty good consider I shot a 50, or as I like to say “10 under….double par.”  Despite my horrible score I did shoot a birdie on hole 6, my new favorite hole.  Don’t believe me, I know it is difficult to believe, but take a look at my scorecard below:

America’s Got Talent – Semi-Final Results show

**SPOILER ALERT**

The first semi-final result show of America’s Got Talent I feel is a complete sham…I feel two of the acts that made it, in my opinion should not have made it.    In my opinion these are the 4 acts that should have made it to the final:

  • AcroDunk
  • The Fab Five
  • Kevin Skinner and
  • The Voices of Glory

I do not think Grandma Lee and The Texas Tenors should not have made it to the final.  One good thing that did come out of the show is that instead of choosing between the Voices of Glory and The Fab Five, the judges decided to put both acts through to the final.  I still wish AcroDunk would have made it through.  I would have paid to see them in in Vegas.  I do not see how Grandma Lee or The Texas Tenors could hold a show in Vegas.

Anyways that’s my rant on the results show.  I hope the next semi-final is better, although I honestly don’t know who else is left.

New Yorkers – MABL Championship Series

Posted in New Yorkers on August 26, 2009 by Eugene

This past weekend the New Yorkers concluded the 2009 MABL Championship series with the Suffolk Pirates.  After going down 13-1 in the first game of the series, The New Yorkers had their backs against the wall, needing to win Game 2 in order to force a Game 3.

Needing to win Game 2 The New Yorkers started their ace, Pete Abrami, who pitch a flawless, 4 hit - 5 strikeout, complete game shutout.  The New Yorkers evened the series with a 6-0 win over the Pirates and forced a Game 3.

Unfortunately Game 3 was too much like Game 1 and The New Yorkers were blown out again 16-5.  This game should have been a lot closer then it was, but unfortunately for the New Yorkers starting pitcher, Joe Caprioli, had to leave the game with severe leg cramps after only 3 innings.  Larry Mazur, Matt Cifichiello and Ryan Parnell came on to close out the game.  Unfrotunately, the Suffolk Pirates took advantage of the New Yorkers lack of pitching and scored 11 runs of the relieving pitching staff.

Game 2*:

Player Position AB R H RBI
E.Lampione PH 1 0 1 0

Game 3:

Player Position AB R H RBI
E.Lampione RF 3 0 2 0

* Played RF and made 2 catches on the day.

Hopefully next season the New Yorkers will not lose any player for the playoff and will revenge their 4th Championship loss and take home the MABL Championship Trophy.

New Yorker’s – Semifinal Game 1

Posted in New Yorkers, Sports with tags , on August 9, 2009 by Eugene

What a way to spend your 50th post than posting your baseball team’s thrilling come back victory of their new rivals the Long Island Dodgers.  After a first round bye the New Yorker’s took on the Long Island Dodgers for game 1 of the semifinal round of the MABL Playoffs. I went 1 f or 2 with a single and a RBI and a run scored.  Game stats are below:

Player Position AB R H RBI
E. Lampione DH 2 1 1 1

Since I am lazy and Ryan Parnell wrote up a nice synopsis I copied and pasted what he wrote below:

5-run bottom of 9th Gives NYers Huge Comeback Win

Farmingdale, NY – On this gloomy, sticky, muggy Sunday afternoon in August, the New Yorkers (1-0) began their playoff campaign against their division rivals, the Long Island Dodgers (2-2). The Dodgers took 2 of 3 during the regular season but the NYers looked to even that record at 2 apiece for this single game matchup.

The start of this game played out just as all the previous matches between the teams; the two pitchers moved the ball inside and outside and kept the batters off balance to minimize damage. The Dodgers scratched and clawed and powered themselves to a 4-0 lead off of the NYers starter, Ryan Harold. Mussaw managed to keep a shutout into the [insert inning here]th inning but the NYers broke out with a bang with 5 runs to steal the lead. A little bit of small ball and a few errors got the Yorkers 3 runs and Parnell stepped to the plate with runners on the corners down by a run. A drive into the right center field gap looked to be a 3 run homer as Stein played the ball in right and fired a late throw to home. The umps ruled the ball a ground rule double as it rolled between the pseudo fences, which temporarily gave the lead back to the Dodgers. Later on, Joe Cap saved the inning by driving a 2-run single into right to eliminate any controversy. Pete Abrami just missed a home run to left an inning later but legged out a triple which gave the Yorkers a 6-4 lead. The score remained the same until the 9th inning. The Dodgers took advantage of a tired arm and some shotty control by a few relief pitchers to add 6 runs and regain the lead as the teams headed into the final frame. The Maze lead off the inning with a ground ball to 3rd, the 3B made a wide throw and a safe call at first opened up the chances for the Yorkers. A pinch hit walk by Harold, a snub single in the hole on the right side by Parnell brought Matty C to the plate as the tying run. A strike out brought the Captain without a C to the plate once again. Something happened on his ball hit to the right side and Robby MVP Degennaro stepped to the plate with the tying runs on base. With the runner in motion, he drilled a two-run, game tying triple to center field that almost hit the scoreboard. With one out and a runner on third the Dodgers brought their outfield in to try to keep the pressure on. Chris Castellano waltzed to the plate and drove a ball over everyone’s head into center field to give the NYers to 1-0 series lead in this semi-final round of the playoffs. The Yorkers celebrated their walk off victory and anxiously await game 2.

- Some “Seide” notes –

- As always, Ryan Harold pitched a hell of a game. He gutted out an impressive 8.1 innings. He had retired 9 straight entering the 9th.

- Bobby “O” O’Brien, who walked 3 times in the game, injured his right shoulder while making a fantastic effort on a bloop double to right field and will be a game time decision next week.

- Gerard “Hands” Hanshe had to miss the game due to a surprise wedding. There is some speculation as to whether he could be found on the golf course at game time.

- Joe Seide came in and stopped the bleeding in the 9th and will make his final NYers appearance as early as next Sunday time will tell

- Rumors have been swirling around Chris Cast and his squeeze; she may be dragging him away on vacation next Saturday if that is the case he will not be missed. Phil will take over his catching duties and Bobby will be granted the title of “team jackass” in Chris’s stead we love you, Chris.

- Until next weekend, gentlemen, great comeback victory but it is indeed behind us. We need to refocus and try to carry some momentum into next week.

New Clubs

This summer when Drew was up, he was on a golf kick,  so much of a golf kick that he skipped going to the trailer so he could play golf with me and his two grandpas.  We played 9 hole of Bethpage Yellow.  We didn’t keep score since it was Drew and I’s first time ever playing a real golf course and my dad’s only 5th time or so so he’s not ready, so I can’t tell you what I shot.  Moral of the story is Drew and I had so much fun I decided to buy myself some clubs and him some clubs for his birthday.  We both basically got the same club except his did not come with a 5 wood.  I found this site online when I was looking on eBay for some clubs, so I decided to checkout their website directly and found these clubs.  Links to our clubs are below:
